Top Gear Scout

Top Gear Scout was created by 1st Wantirna South Scout Leaders who also happen to be a group of Ex-Rovers who have run race events for RSM for many years. 
In March 2017 they decided to step up to a new challenge and create an event for Scouts allowing them to get the feel of racing and gain knowledge about cars.
Top Gear Scout is a weekend for Scouts (aged 11 to 14.5) to come and compete in a variety of activities including Billy Carts, BMX, Archery, Abseiling, Car Smash & our very own Junior Development Program (JDP). Scouts will compete against other patrols for the title of Top Gear Scout. 
The Scouts will learn a little more about everyday motor vehicles and for anyone 12 and over they have the opportunity to learn to drive a car. The event is open to any Scout or Guide Australia wide.
 
The weekend is held at Mafeking Rover Park, just outside of Yea Victoria. For more information please see the links below.
 
Top Gear Venturer
 
This weekend is also run by 1st Wantirna South Scout Leaders is designed for Venturers (aged 14.5 to 17.5) to learn more about anything with a motor.
The weekend is structured whereas they learn car control in our very own Junior Development Program (JDP) on Saturday & then get to put it all into practice by competing against their friends in a Motorkhana challenge on Sunday. 
 
Across the weekend they will also learn motor car skills that will help with everyday life, such has changing a tyre, reversing a trailer & emergency braking. 
 
This event is held for a weekend in September and is open to any Venturer in Australia. 
 
The event is held at Mafeking Rover Park, just outside of Yea Victoria.
